Shipping containers

Beware of scammers, beginners and container clearance.

A bogus company is currently posing as CTR International Inc. in order to sell shipping containers at prices that are far too good to be true. They use fake invoices with our company address in Trois-Rivières and stolen photos from our official website.

They ask for payments by Interac transfer to a fake email address: ctrcontainer@hotmail.com or a fake phone number: 1-514-418-7267. Their invoices do not include any GST and QST numbers and they do not charge any taxes. Fraudsters even send you a copy of our file published in the Registraire des Entreprises du Québec.

Beware! It’s a scam.

Never send an Interac transfer and never give out your credit card number.

Always call us at: 819-697-8929 before placing your order and always ask to speak to Maxime Parent. I am the owner and I am the only one answering calls at this time.

If you believe you have been the victim of fraud, contact your local police department.

Here are some suggestions to help you.

  1. Beware of scammers. Many scammers offer prices that are far too good to be true. Ask questions, call several companies and see how many years they have been in business. The majority of scammers steal real Facebook accounts to resell containers. They usually have only one ad of containers for sale and request payment by Interac transfer or ask you for a credit card number. ALWAYS speak to your salesperson before buying and beware of calls that seem long to connect as most use local numbers but with overseas internet connections. Many scammers even have fake websites to give you confidence, but most of these websites are very simple with only a few pages.
  2. Many new companies appear every year and then disappear. Do a search at the Registraire des Entreprises du Québec, beware of “professionals” with new companies and companies that are too recent. One does not become a “professional” in a few months of operation.
  3. A new and used shipping container must be cleared by the company that sells it. Ask your seller for proof that their containers have cleared customs. (transaction number from Canada Border Services Agency).
  4. Always check the GST and QST numbers on the company invoice. Tax numbers can easily be checked online or over the phone. In Quebec, GST and QST must be charged on each container sale.
  5. If you have been the victim of fraud, contact your local police department to file a complaint. Its very important.
