He developed a cargo transport system using standardized steel containers, which can be quickly and easily loaded and unloaded from ships. This system has allowed greater speed and a considerable reduction in costs in maritime transport operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first container-carrying ship sailed from Newark, New Jersey to Houston, Texas in 1956. Since then, the use of shipping containers has become increasingly widespread around the world and has become the one of the most commonly used means of transporting goods across the oceans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, shipping containers come in different sizes and configurations to meet a variety of transportation needs. They are used to transport a wide variety of goods, ranging from manufactured goods to foodstuffs and petroleum products.
